Blacking out the headlights

Showing the stock chrome lamp with the blacked-out lamp like the Street Edition cars have. Some paint the insides, but on Solsticeforum one member found out that the black plastic under the chrome looks pretty good -- no need to paint it black.
Removing the chrome from inside the light is simple. Bake at 175F for 10 minutes, separate with a putty knife. Remove chrome shell with 4 screws. Spray chrome shell with Easy Off oven cleaner, let sit for 15 minutes. Wipe off chrome. Repeat one more time to get the last residue off. Rinse with water to ensure oven cleaner is completely gone, dry well, and reassemble chrome shell to lamp. Reattach lens to base, put back in 175F oven for 10 minutes to re-soften the glue, and finish compressing the lens back in place. Seal with clear silicone for insurance. Done!
