This is Schroedinger. Schroedinger is a black and white tabby, American Short Hair cat, otherwise known as a "meow mix." She's a bit over 12 pounds, and as far as we know, she was born around September 1998.

Gina and I wanted a pet, and the townhouse we were renting at the time allowed pets, so when Gina saw in the newspaper that Most Valuable Pets (a local pet supply store that features animals from the Humane Society) had kittens, we decided to stop by. We found Phoebe and Schroedinger there, and took them both home. We decided on two cats instead of just one so they could keep each other company, and on early January 1999 we became cat owners.
Schroedinger was supposed to be my cat. I always said if I had a cat, I'd name it Schroedinger. Physicists think the name is hilarious. If you don't remember the name from your quantum physics class, visit The story of Schroedinger's Cat for the story. Since Schroedinger was supposed to be my cat, I named her.
Schroedinger is really more Gina's cat than mine. She likes me fine, and we play together, but the only lap she voluntarily jumps to is Gina's. Gina is also the one who feeds the cats, and food is very important to Schroedinger. Eating and sleeping are her two favorite pastimes. She is active, but not nearly as much so as Phoebe.
All of our cats have some things in common. They all are rescued kittens, they all stay indoors exclusively, and they all have the Avid Friendchip installed. They also get a steady diet of Iams food -- no table scraps; table scraps make for stinky cats that might not make it to the litter pan in time.
