This is Smokey. Smokey is a tortoise shell, American Short Hair cat, otherwise known as a "meow mix." She's a growing kitten, and as far as we know, she was born around October 2000.

Smokey was an accident. Gina found her in the parking lot of the Richmond Mall as an eight-week-old kitten. A coworker of hers tried to keep her but her older cat wouldn't have any part of that. After unsuccessfully trying to find her a home, we decided to keep her.

Smokey is rowdy. The other two never were as active as she. She wants so badly to be an adult cat; she prefers to eat adult cat food (the other two have no problems eating kitten food, thank you) and she wants to climb and play like, and with, the others. She has latched onto Phoebe; Phoebe doesn't seem to care for it that much and often gives Gina and I looks as if to say, "Please tell me, why is she here?" but she tolerates Smokey nonetheless. Smokey has less contact with Schroedinger, primarily because Schroedinger doesn't take much from Smokey before sending her on her way.

All of our cats have some things in common. They all are rescued kittens, they all stay indoors exclusively, and they all have the Avid Friendchip installed. They also get a steady diet of Iams food -- no table scraps; table scraps make for stinky cats that might not make it to the litter pan in time.
